Fair questions

Before you decide

What does the ₦20,000 a year cover?

A full year on Chefmark: your public profile and portfolio, your place in the directory and on Google, messages from people hiring, and your business pack of invoices, receipts, letterhead, business card and CV. Your phone number and email are only shown to people who have paid to contact chefs.

Do you take a cut of what I earn?

No. You agree your price with the client and they pay you directly. We never see your invoices and never take a commission.

Will I definitely get jobs?

No one can honestly promise that. What we can promise is a profile that shows your work at its best, a place where people come looking for chefs, and enquiries only from people who have paid to get in touch.

Do I need a certificate to join?

No. You can go live without one. If you have a culinary certificate, you can add it any time and we'll check it for the blue tick on your profile.

I'm still building my experience. Is it worth it?

Yes. Good photos of food you've really cooked and an honest profile go a long way, and plenty of people booking a family dinner or a small event are looking for exactly that.

I have a discount code, or I already paid for my place. What do I do?

Add your discount code when you pay; it lowers your first year. If you paid before (including founding chefs), sign up with the same email you used and you won't be asked to pay again.
